Monday Mayhem in the classroom….

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Monday morning Kathy taught beginning machine quilting. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from a true master in the field of machine quilting. A little practice and you will be turning out the quilts. Kathy teaches you free motion techniques such as stippling, echo, outline and more.  Kristine is busy learning to free motion quilt on her new 830 with the  BERNINA Stitch Regulator foot. The “BSR” makes it easier to control your stitch length without using your foot control. However, regardless of the machine you have, you can learn to free motion quilt if you can drop your feed dogs. We will offer this class again!!!

Having fun ladies?? Monday afternoon Kathy taught machine mastery classes.  Our machine mastery classes are not only lots of learning, but lots of fun. There really isn’t much Kathy does not know about a BERNINA sewing machine. When you purchase a machine from Gina’s you will learn how to use it.

Leave the sand at the beach…..

Starting to put up the fussy cut squares on the design boards.

This is how it all starts….. and starts again. The boards were definitely a must!

Ginny is happy to be putting on the cornerstones.

At the end of the workshop, Kaffe lovingly critiqued each quilt. He was very impressed with our quilters.

More Workshop Photo’s from Kaffe

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

Not 10, not 20, but 35 design boards all over the store! It was crowded, but exciting. Watching the quilts come to life was inspiring!

A gorgeous close up of one of the quilts. Lots and lots of fussy cut squares and corner pieces  that pop those floral fabrics giving this quilt  personality!

Liza is looking so serious, but seriously, it was a lot of fun!

Kaffe and Liza perused the workshop helping the quilters with their design boards.

Are you all sewing up your “Floral Snowballs”?

Please bring them in so we can post the finished products on our blog.

Take photography inspiration from Kaffe’s book and photograph your quilt with a gorgeous background.
