Make and Match Placemat Class in Knoxville

Learn how to make custom mitered corner placemats and make a second one to help Gina’s Bernina seasonal placemat drive! This is a perfect gift for family, friends, or your own kitchen – and you’ll spread some holiday cheer by making one to donate. This is a perfect stash buster as it only takes two fat quarters and a bit of batting per placemat. The instructor will also provide yardage instructions for making a set, and will demonstrate how to make matching napkins. Consider holiday or children themed fabrics to make as gifts.
Supply List:
Basic sewing supplies including rotary cutter and thread snips
Thread to match mitered border fabric
One fat quarter for border and one fat quarter for main fabric for each placemat (bring four fat quarters at least 17” x 21” to make two placemats)
Craft size cotton (or cotton blend) or two 12” x 18” pieces of batting
Corner template plastic or cardboard (instructor will bring one to borrow or copy) or Carol’s Box Corners Marking Template (can be purchased at the store)
