    • Orange Swirl (body) - 5/8 yd
    • Black Swirl (body) - 3/4 yd
    • Black Solid - 5/8 yd

    • Orange Solid - 7/8 yd
  • Basic sewing supplies to include:
    • Sewing machine, needles, thread (color to coordinate for piecing; I recommend a grey as it blends well with most fabrics), bobbin, etc.
    • pins
    • rotary cutter and mat
    • ruler (any rotary cutter guide ruler, but one that is 24” long is recommended)
    • 12” square up ruler - this is not required, but I highly recommend getting one especially as we do half-square triangles.
    • Strip Tube Ruler - this also is not required, but it can make squaring up half-square triangles much easier.
  • Marking tool - can be air erase, Frixon pen, pencil, etc. - used for marking back of fabric for half-square triangles
  • 1/4” seam marking ruler - recommended but not required if your ruler has a clear 1/4”
    markings
  • Iron and small ironing surface - this will make it easier to have nearby but there will be an ironing surface available for sharing in class.

  • Instructions:
  • Read through your pattern prior to class, if possible, to be familiar with what we will be working on.
  • Do all your fabric cutting according to the cutting instructions in the pattern, prior to class time. This will allow us to get right to the piecing. Classroom space is limited so cutting in advance will be to our advantage. Please, read the cutting instructions carefully. If followed, you will have no problems. Accurate cutting will help with accurate piecing as well. Taking your time while cutting will provide you benefits later.
  • Please show up 15 minutes prior to class time to be set up and ready to start promptly on time. We will begin on time. If you are late, I will help you when I can to catch up with the others.
  • Basic knowledge of your machine is a requirement. (It is recommended that you always bring your manual in case you have problems while in class).
  • We will cover all parts and sections of piecing your quilt top. I do expect you to finish the entire quilt in these two sessions. I may assign homework between the sessions. If you are not able to complete your quilt in the class times, you will easily be able to finish it from what you learn in class on your own at home. Plus you can contact me.
  • Come prepared to have a great time! We will learn from each other and just enjoy our creative experience. Plus you will get to enjoy your quilt for years to come as a result of taking the class. I’m looking forward to it!
