Paper Piecing Basics - Small Scale

Join Mary for this paper piecing class on a smaller scale!  You'll be making smaller designs using paper piecing techniques.  You'll enjoy learning to make precision designs in smaller proportions.

I will be bringing several templates for you to choose from so its difficult to tell you a supply list but here are some recommendations.

Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies - a small iron and iron mat will be helpful.

Fabric Recommendations

Christmas Tree - 6 various green fabrics (5x5" pieces), 1 fat quarter for background and backing, brown for trunk (5x5" piece), yellow for star (5x5" piece)

Snowman - 1 fat quarter for background, red for scarf (10x5" piece), 1 fat quarter for body and head, orange for nose (5x5" piece), black for hat (10x10" piece),

I would bring plenty of scraps, you will need 1 yard of pattern ease for tracing. This can also be used as your "paper". If you want to use actual paper, please bring plain copy (not card stock) paper.

Here are some other templates I have so you can decide what colors you may want to bring - Pumpkin, Haunted House, Stars (this one is actually my favorite), heart, matriochka dolls, Ghost, bats and hearts.

We will all start with the tree because it will be the easiest to learn the technique but you ought to be able to do more than one during class.
