

Quilt As You Go - Strip Pillow

You’ll dazzle house guests with a custom made strip-pieced pillow with binding for your couch, bed, or favorite chair! This is an excellent and easy technique to quickly piece and quilt your project. You’ll have an opportunity to learn Jenny’s custom fusible binding technique for a fast finish. Jenny will also explain how to easily adapt this technique to other pillow sizes and even small quilts.
SUPPLIES:
Sewing Machine (don’t forget your power cord and foot pedal)
Basic Sewing Supplies Rotary Cutter, Ruler, Cutting Mat Sharp Scissors and Thread Snips
One 18” x 18” pillow form (required for class) Fabric for pillow front –
Fabric for pillow front - Ten 2.5” strips (width of fabric – WOF) non-directional quilters cotton
Batting for pillow front – One 21” x 21” piece of medium cotton batting
Fabric for envelope pillow back – 1 yard coordinating non-directional quilters cotton
Fabric for binding – Three 2.5” strips of coordinating or contrasting non-directional quilters cotton
Thread (40 wt cotton) to match fabric strips (possibly a neutral gray) and thread to match binding and
Charlotte’s Web Fusible Thread for fusible binding.
Feet: Walking Foot and/or ¼ Inch Foot (or ¼” Foot with Guide), Stitch-in-the-Ditch (Runner) Foot
While you do not have to have a walking foot, ¼ foot, or runner foot to make the pillow, it’s much easier with these three feet.
