Tapestry Zipper Bag Class in Brentwood



Get back into embroidery after everyone goes back to school! Join us for a zipper bag class from an OESD design with Sue Powell. 

These beautiful Tapestry Zipper Bags are a stylish way to keep track of all the little items you carry around each day. They're perfect to hold pencils and pens, to use as a wallet, or to round up all the odds and ends at the bottom of your purse. Each bag comes in 2 sizes - large and small.

 Design – from OESD Collection #12869

  •          Purchase and Print out in color the PDF Directions and bring to class
  •          Put the Designs on a USB stick and bring to class

 BERNINA Sewing and Embroidery Machine – cleaned, oiled and tested

  •          Throat Plate – Single Hole
  •          Embroidery Module
  •          All tools and accessories for your machine
  •          Machine Foot #26

 BERNINA Hoops – choose which bag you plan to make:

  •          Maxi Hoop for Large Teal Bag
  •          Midi Hoop for Small Teal, Large Green and Large Purple Bags
  •          Large Oval Hoop for Small Green and Small Purple Bags

 Fabrics:

  •          1 Fat Quarter of quilting cotton for Outer Bag
  •          1 Fat Quarter of quilting cotton for Lining

 Stabilizers:

  •          Medium Weight Tear Away to fit your size hoop
  •          Fusible Woven (This will be applied to Outer Fabric only.)

 

Notions and Tools:

  •          OESD Expert Embroidery Tear Away Tape
  •          OESD Expert Point and Press Tool
  •          OESD Perfect Embroidery Press Cloth
  •          10” Zipper for Small Bags
  •          14” Zipper for Large Bags
  •          Sewing Pins or Wonder Clips
  •          Small Scissors to cut threads
  •          Craft Scissors to cut zipper tape

Threads:

  •          Isacord Thread as per Thread Chart for the bag you plan to make in Instructions File (small spools will work)
  •          Bottom Line Bobbin Thread (White or Off White)

Needles:

  •          75/11 Oregon Sharp Embroidery Needle for your Machine
  •          Small Hand Needle to close Lining Opening


Pre-Class Prep Instructions:

Have these steps done before class so you will be ready!

  1.     Purchase and Download the Design you plan to make on a USB Stick. 
  1.     Print in color the PDF Instructions File that comes with your design. 
  1.     Clean, dust and oil your machine. 
  1.     Attach a new 75/11 Sharp Embroidery Needle and Embroidery Foot #26 to your machine. 
  1.     Wind a FULL bobbin of Bottom-Line Bobbin Thread (white or off white is fine).
  1.     Cut Fabrics and Fusible Woven according to the chart on pages 6-7 of the Instructions File according to the size bag you plan to make.
