This petite tote is perfect for stashing a sewing project and a few essentials. The small shape fits snugly under your arm and the curved lines really play up its feminine design. Recommended Fabrics:
       
Canvas of linen-type fabric for exterior and quilting cotton for lining

        Exterior, Lining

        Fusible woven interfacing: Pellon SF101

        Fusible fleece: Pellon 987

        Zippers: (1) 6-inch, (1) 8-inch (interior and exterior pockets)

        Cotton webbing for handles: 1 ¼ yards (3.8 cm)

DO NOT WASH FABRICS. Best Press or Terial Magic all your fabrics for crisp stability.

Tools and Sewing supplies

  1.   Sewing machine, oil, foot pedal, bobbin case, feet, slide-on table, and power cord
  2.   General sewing foot (1D Bernina), topstitching or edge-stitching foot (10D Bernina), and zipper foot (4 Bernina)
  3.   Rotary cutter with a NEW blade, rulers, and mat
  4.   NEW 14/90 denim needle in your machine
  5.   Full bobbin (one for construction and one for topstitching if a different color)
  6.   50-weight thread to match your fabrics. Your topstitching will show.
  7.   Mary Ellen’s Best Press
  8.   Sharp 5” scissors (Karen K Buckley are great)
  9.   Straight pins
  10.   Wonder Clips (small and large)
  11.   Seam ripper
  12.   6-inch Seam gauge
  13.   Thread snips
  14.   Water-soluble marker and Chalk Liner orTailor’s Chalk
  15.   Stiletto
  16.   Scotch brand magic tape
  17.   byAnnies 1/4-inch fusible tape

Preparation for Class

  1.    Gather supplies and tools BEFORE class. Gina’s staff will help you.
  2.    Read through the instructions before class to get an idea of the process.
  3.    Iron your fabrics using Best Press to remove wrinkles and creases. (Don’t wash fabrics.)
  4.    Cut fabrics according to the Instructions after Best Press or Terial Magic and dry
  5.    Use the Magic Tape and label each piece! Write on the tape and adhere to the piece.
  6.    Wind bobbins with threads that match your fabrics. Neutral for construction and another for topstitching if desired.
  7.    Bring snack/lunch and drink with lid if desired.
