Dragon Glass Quilt in Brentwood

This dynamic quilt (48” x 58”) shows off large prints in larger-sized wonderful curves. The designer says the rich colors remind her of a dragon hoarding its jewels! You’ll learn techniques using the Quick Curve Ruler and curved piecing.

Fabric

•          Two, large-print layer cakes (10-inch squares) or 16 large print fat quarters. Kaffe makes stunning prints if that’s your vibe.
•          1/4 yard for bottom border
•          1/2-yard binding fabric to finish your quilt
•          3 1/4 backing fabric to finish your quilt

Tools and Supplies

1.      Sewing machine, Oil, bobbin case, foot pedal, slide-on table, and power cord
2.      Acorn Products Precision Piecing Starter Kit
3.      Quarter-inch machine foot (97D Bernina)
4.      NEW 80/12 machine needle
5.      Full bobbin with thread to blend with your fabrics for piecing
6.      Quality 50-weight cotton thread (Aurifil is my go-to)
7.      Glass head sharp piecing pins
8.      5-inch Karen K Buckley scissors
9.      Thread snips
10.      Stiletto
11.      Frixion pen
12.      Wonder clips
13.      Seam ripper
14.      Rotary Cutter with new blade and mat
15.      Terial Magic or Mary Ellen’s Best press to prepare your fabric before cutting
16.      Small iron and wool mat (optional)

Prepare for Class

•          Gather the needed pattern, fabric, and supplies
•          Press your fabrics with Best Press to remove all the wrinkles
•          Bring snack/lunch and drink with a lid if desired.
