Pre-Class Preparation
Please do this before class day so you may get the most from class time.
Cut panels per instructions on pattern
Center panel – If you are using chainstitch/coverstittch cut this panel as instructed and iron
Fusible woven stabilizer (shape flex) on the back.
If you are using roll hem, pintucks or flatlock cut your center panel at least 3” longer and
wider. Do not iron any stabilizer on this.
Center panel with appliques – cut your appliques out ahead of time. I used Heat and Bond
Lite on the back of my flowers and “fussy cut” them out. You will stitch these on later with
your sewing machine but will need them for placement purposes for the
chainstitch/coverstitch.
**Also, optional you could embroidery something on the center panel ahead of time or just
use a print for this.
You will need additional shape flex for the weaving, and I also ironed some on the back of
pieces B, C, and E
**If you are using the bias tape maker, you will need to make your strips ahead of time and
will need 6-7 yards of trim for the weaving and 5-6 yards for the trim between panels and
across the top and bottom.
I look forward to seeing you in class!
