La Stella Quilt Class - Knoxville

Join Jenny for half square triangle (HST) happiness as you learn how to make this stunning La Stella quilt by Jessica Rose of QUILTD Studios.  You’ll learn multiple ways to piece HSTs and organize the piecing for this gorgeous full color pattern (required for class).  While you may not finish the quilt in class – you’ll be well on your way and will be treated to a mini trunk show of alternate color palettes and sizes. Appropriate for beginner to intermediate quilters. 

Supplies:   While the pattern shows multiple color ways, Jenny recommends sticking to similar lights and darks the first time you make the quilt. She also recommends you make the crib size the first time you make it.  You are free to cut HSTs in advance, but please follow the color guidelines in the pattern.  For those cutting in advance with an Accuquilt, you can make all HST’s 6.5”. 

Sewing machine (don’t forget your power cord and foot pedal)

Basic sewing supplies

Sharp rotary cutter, cutting rulers of preference including a 6.5” square ruler (unless making a larger size), small cutting mat to square up HSTs if desired (a rotating mat is particularly helpful)

Sharp scissors or thread snips and piecing thread (Jenny recommends a 50 or 60 weight light gray to piece, but you can use any color or piecing weight you normally use)

¼ Inch Foot (or ¼” Foot with Guide)
